His Choice
My problems seemed to loom so large before my tear-filled eyes,
I thought they were so terrible God could not hear my cries.
Then deep within my soul I heard His quiet voice,
"Though these burdens weigh you down, for you they are My choice.
They'll make you strong so you may help when others suffer wrong."
Still at times I wonder why He lets me suffer so,
But once again I hear His voice and deep inside I know.
The problems do not disappear, nor do the tears just stop,
But now I see that valleys come as well as mountain top.
And through the tears I can see His faithful care o'er me.
His choice is what I want whatever it may bring.
If I recall this one truth, my heart can always sing.
